nETWORK WIRING: cATEGORY 3,5,5e AND CATEGORY 6 AND 6A CABLING
VOICE/DATA NETWORK CABLING SERVICES
Full design, install and approval process for your voice/data network cabling system.
Voice/Data Network has become the backbone of any company or business enterprise. This is the most effective and efficient method of phone communications and computer infrastructure operations. Networked structured cabling is one of the more common methods of network building and infrastructure. Voice network refers to the transport of voice over your network. This is the case for instance if you are using IP phones and your phone service is provided by a VoIP provider.
Network Cabling Montreal can provide Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a systems installation.
Category 5, 5E voice/data network cabling
Category 5e network cable is an improved specification to the very popular Category 5 that replaced Cat 3. Much of this improvement was in the reduction of signal noise and interference.
Cat 5e cable can achieve up to 1 Gb/s depending on the cable total length. Cat 5 and Cat 5e cables operate at a frequency of 100 Mhz. Cat 5e cables work very well for VoIP applications and data networks and are widely used.
Category 6, 6A voice/data network cabling
Cat 6: The mainstream adoption of Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) required new industry-standard cables capable of transmitting at a higher frequency of 250 MHz. Category 6 cable uses thicker-gauge wire, increased shielding, and more pair twists per inch to reduce signal noise and interference. The tighter specifications guarantee that 100-meter runs of Category 6 are capable of 1000 Mbit/s transfer speeds. 10-Gigabit Ethernet speeds are achievable when reducing cable lengths to less than 50 meters.
Cat 6a : This type of network cable is a proposed augmentation of the Cat 6 standard that would further reduce crosstalk in the cabling system. It would allow for the use of higher frequencies in the 500MHz range and should be able to provide up to 10 Gbits/s.
